High Heel Living!

When you were born, you had nice little feet that had contact points with the ground and allowed your body weight to be evenly distributed.  As you grew, so did your fashion sense!

Walking High On Life!

Fun Time:  Here's what I want you to do.

1. Sit down and take your shoes off.
2. Stand up and note how you feel your toes, heels, and ankles support your body.
3. Now, raise up slowly onto your toes, lifting your heels off the ground.  (you'll notice, you start wobbling and you will naturally flex at the hip to keep from falling over)
4. When walking, you would obviously be a little bit uncomfortable walking this way....so your body naturally accommodates.  It arches your lower back to better balance the weight of your body evenly.  This creates a high amount of strain on the lower back area resulting in pain and compression on nerves in that area.

What to do:
1. Limit the amount of time in your heels - save them for special occasions.
2. Lower back stretches/exercises as prescribed by your chiropractor.
3. Kick off your heels when you are at your desk.
4. The Smaller the heel height, the better.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to write me.

Thanks
